hmmm..... aall these long distance voyagers got me thinking..... what does anyone think the longest open water passage in a chrysler sailboat was????? East coast to bermuda? Florida to bahamas? cross the pond? anyone know of a pond crossing in a swing keel boat ( of any manufacture)....

I don't know about you guys but I have the fixed keel ( personally don't like swing keels or centerboards) but I sweat it out in the Bay worrying aobut my chainplates......

There has been several crossing on a swing keel type design. me personally though would be scared to death of an invert where the swinging keel beats a hole into the hull of the boat.

Ronc, isn't that a feature? If you are inverted, the new hole would be the escape hatch. (Es sca pae, that's spelled just like escape).

I can't imagine a trip like that either.

I'm just excited about moving EE to the area around Pass Christian, MS next spring because there are about 5 barrier islands a few miles offshore that run east to west, and I'll be able to cruise those on long weekends !!!

EE's getting another haulout next week to do more upgrade and fixup over the winter to get to that point.

Just more hype ... good luck to her if its really that importain to her.

Would it be anything to blog about me taking my basic as can be C-22 to the Bahamas for the Scoot in April ( http://thescoot.com/ ). I think a New SS keel assembly and everything will be fine. I 'm not looking for carefree voyage.

If I don't find a C-26 ,(seems like someone let the cat out of the bag and everyone wants one) and now I see the size differance and would have no sail time with one that and the 1st mate really likes the C-22 no sink thing, I really plan on this adventure with the my swing keel C-22.

If the motovations are right and if nobody that matters argues, why not?
