your playlist WHILE SAILING or at anchor.

Ok, we all have Chris Cross, Sailing, Gordon Lightfoot,.. Does not have to be sailing related, could be an instrumental, a classical piece (ride of the valkyries?)

enya, sail away..

I always felt that a big plus on a sailboat is you can actually HEAR music... I go water skiing and on friends PB's and they have all kinds of super high end power amps and systems and all I can hear over the engines is a headache com'n on.

Excellent topic!

We use a variety of music on the boats. On Lady Jo for training I have Jimmy Buffet. It seems everyone expects and loves it.

For Destiny We have it all. The rougher the seas the harder the music.
35-40 kts and ACDC is on hand. Normal sailing gets the same lists already provided but also includes Erick Stone.

For relaxing or anchor I have a huge collection of classical guitar music!

No one mentioned Southern Cross by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young yet?

We play a bit of everything, whatever suits the mood of the moment. For smooth sailing in addition to artists already mentioned:

Keb Mo'
Nora Jones
Taj Mahal

Or how about some acoustic KT Tunstall?

No music for me, I like the silence at anchor, the sound of the boat plowing thru the waves, or the wind in the sails.

I wouldn't even consider running a gen set. Its nice to have A/C aboard, but I like the silence (and to keep it simple)
