Okay, I sail alone about half the time. When I sail alone I go out for long hauls, 8 to 12 hours. Well there long hauls for me. I find myself rigging lines, bungee cords, etc. to secure the rudder while I go forward to raise, lower, adjust, the sails forward.. There has got to be a better way, a safer way to do this. Yes, I wear my life vest 100% of the time when sailing solo just in case.

So anyone have a good solution to manning the tiller? I know there has to be a K.I.S.S. answer out there.

Tiller pilot.
If I remember, TP1000 however I could be totally off on the model.
If money is of concern, I'd look into a tiller tamer.




BY the way, Destiny will get hauled out of the water tomorrow at 2:30 if you are interested in seeing it, ring me and I'll let you know where an the exact lift time.

we have both a tiller tamer for times when power is an issue and for day sailing, when we cruise we use the TP1000 gtreat unit but can be a power hog, easy to hook up but we never use either one crossing the stream.

Yeah, I use a tiller tamer and works well for a SHORT while. Enough time to go to the bow and fiddle for awhile.
