My New C-20!

Post by DenaP »

Having decided that I would do a complete restore on my C-22, I decided to look for a C-20 to sail in the meanwhile. I found one for sail less than 2 hours away, and yesterday, we drove up to see her, and ended up bringing her home. In the photos the PO sent me the boat appeared to have been well cared for and upon seeing her, it was clear she has also been lightly sailed. The PO was somewhat torn at selling her, having had her for only two seasons, but his family didn't take to sailing as he had hoped. The boat came with the original trailer, with the Chrysler name still on the trailer fenders. I think I got a good deal on a great boat, and I think the PO felt good about the sale price as well.

I didn't expect to find a new boat this quickly, but apparently the sailing gods intended me to have 2 Chryslers!

Cheers!

Good For You, you will love that boat. I learned a lot about the C-20, an happy to help with any questens. You will need a 26" shaft outboard, ( Or For Fun Put in a rolling rige across the bench seats, an have your wife roal wile you stear. That would make you the star of the Marina. On Raising The Mast, I made a afram, using two 1"x 10' condot, one end of each joyned togather with a angle. The other end to the turnbuckel of the forwoud shroud. Atach your block&tackle to the angle, an add a line. Now stand the afram up leaning aft, so that the line can be tyed to the boul, to hold up the afram. Atach the other end of the block&tackle uust under the spreders on the mast. Rasing An lowering the mast is vary easy. But Not The center line of the mast will be 3' past the end of your boat, so you will need something to hold up the end of your mast. Loading On Trailer, leave the kell down 25% an it will hold your stern center on the trailer. My C-26 sat in drive-way three years, becaus I was having to much fun sailing my C-20

Congrats Deena I wish you many happy days sailing but remember
every day you sail the 20 is a day longer the rebuild on the C-22 will take.
Catch the wind and ride the wave, Have fun
