C-26 Roller Furling Survey

This summers sailing adventure was the last I will have with a reliable crew and I am going to have to install roller furling for my jib. I have read all of the product brochures and info, studied furler installation on other boats but am wondering what type of furling system my fellow C-26 sailors are using. I am currently leaning towards a Flexible furler because of the self contained halyard and flexible plastic extrusion. I am not convinced that the Flex-Furlers are strong enough or built to last. I would appreciate any comments you have regarding furlers on your boats and what size jib your using.

That's what I have on MOON SHADOW an FF6 it's not as fragile as the alum extrusions and it's all pvc means no crosion to deal with

I am using a similar set flexible furler with contained halyard. Flying a 140 genoa but have also used a 110 on the same system.

I have had no issues other than expected furling line replacement, I wouldn't be without a roller furler on a cruising boat.

Who has these extrusions? I have a roller furling that I would consider using if I could locate the extrusions?

I have a PROFURL LC32 and it works great. It's never gotten stuck or bunched up on me.
It has an open bail which I think is a definite, in case your rope does turn into a rats nest.

This is the roller furling that came with my c-22. Can someone help identify it? Is it possible that it was original chrysler equipment?

This is my number one WANT. And while I have the mast down, this will be the most expensive thing I've ever gotten or ever will get for the boat, I thinks.

It is the one thing that would allow me to single handle more often.

Thanks for all of the replies. I decided to go with a Hood SeaFlex. Defender had the best price and Sailrite had jib conversion kits so I could sew the luff tape myself. Overall I'm very happy with it. I have a Sta-Loc fitting on my forestay and the drum of the SeaFlex fit over it nicely with no issues. I prepared myself ahead of time to deal with possible halyard wrap so referencing an old "Things That Work" textbook by Sail Mag I placed a small piece of pvc tubing around the portion of the jib halyard that extended from the masthead to the furler swivel (about 4-5 inches). This kept the wire from being able to wrap and jam up the furling action. When I take the mast down for the season I will install a proper halyard restrainer. Just as a matter of note, my total cost for the furler and jib conversion set me back about 500 and after sailing with it for a weekend it was worth every penny! No more hank-on sails for me!
