If you are headed farther south to Venice beach, don't miss "The Crows Nest Marina", great facilities, free use of bicycles, beautiful water.

nice report -- thanks..

what autopilot are you using?

also I use a very cheap gadget -- a sun shower -- essentially a outrageously overpriced black plastic bag --- for a hot shower // works great BTW... if I did not have it I would simply make my own out of a very thick strong black garbage bag.

Wow!
Great read and thank you! Just what I need sitting here at a desk! LOL!

Speaking of Venice Beach, this Pacific Northwest guy has sat on that beach with family and all! You see, my father loves on Nokomis! Don't bother visiting him now though! He is here in Washington visiting me! LOL!

Here I sit at my desk, wishing I was doing what you are doing. Thanks for the inspiration.

Hi Hot Dot,
Just read your post and all the remarks after. Sounds like fun.
I was raised in Venice and know the waters from Sarasota south to Englewood. I still have family in the area (Bradenton to Englewood) now!
Family moved there in 1969. Englewood was a little fishing town back then and Nokomis wasn't much bigger.
I'm still in central ohio

Have fun and be safe.

Nice, I have been planing to make the trip over to the west coast in the near future and your trip sounds a lot like the one I was thinking of doing. It will have to wait for cooler weather though since the wife dislikes the heat something fierce (so do I but the water draws me like a good retriever). I do hope to hit the water on the 4th on the St. Johns for some sailing and fireworks (hopefully not the loud bright bolt type)
