Vary Old Chrysler Started
Last year I rebilt the Carb. & Fuel pump it had spark to the new plugs. I didn't plan on useing it last year so I didn't try to start it. I am just about rady to go in the water, so I but the outboard in water, it starded & runs good. First start up in 16 years.

If it's a Sailor 280, I can say I've grown quite friendly with mine. Done the carb rebuild, fuel pump kit, impeller changes with new seals, gearbox disassembly to replace a shift arm pivot.
Oh and a broken pin on the shift rod actuator which lives under the powerhead. That I had to remove the powerhead for, and if I'd known how easy that was I would have done it before the carb and fuel pump rebuilds. Much easier to work on it that way, nearly impossible to do the fuel pump without removing the head.
I can't complain. I paid less than $300 for it and expected to have work to do.
If it hasn't been run in all those years, I'd do the fuel pump kit. Mine's rubber was brittle, and when the local 15% Ethanol fuel was used it split right down the middle.

It is a Sailor 280 C D like yours, but a 12 hp. I used a Carb. Kit & a Fuel Pump Kit, yes vary hard to get at. What is the size of your gas tank? My boat came with a 3 gallon tank, a 6 gallon tank will fit. Rus good in my driveway, hope it runs good on the lake. The C20 & C26 are a lot a like. Wish the C26 had a 12 foot beam!
