Forestay tension
How much tension should there be on the cable stays? Thanks
Re: Forestay tension
Hello, nice to see that there is someone who is using this section.
1) give me some info about the craft, model and year.
2) I have found specs at different sites and they will explain what the take of the mast should be.
3) I have also found that the down wind side will have less tension while underway.
4) I personally like to have a little bit of tennision on the stays. Not so thought that they sing like a guatar.
Sailboatdata.com usually has a lot of info and sometimes links for further info.
Good Luck

Hi Eric-Fai
I just saw this post that you replied to. I have a C22 I think its 1980 although the plate is very worn.
I am interested in getting tension information for Forestay, back stay and shrouds. If you have any data that may be use ful I would appreciate that.
Thank you
