trailer help

Post by Beady »

Does anyone have dimensions of the winch on the c22 boat trailer? Mine rusted and I took it off and gave it to a guy for repair. I can not locate the guy and I need to have someone make a replacement. I took mine off at the two U-bolts that bolt it to the trailer so I think all I really need is the length and the angle. I checked in the documents but did not see anything.

thanks

Brian

If the boat is still on the trailer as it was when the winch stand was taken off you may be able to make a template. Take a 2x4 and place it alongside the trailer so that it goes from bow eye to the ground. Draw a line across 2x4 where it meets the trailer top to get that angle where the stand attaches to trailer. The draw a level horizontal line from where it meets the bow eye out to get that angle where the winch sets. Subtract the height of the boat winch and that should be close enough to make a mockup for the shop to use..
