placement of bow chocks on C-26

Post by CraigWik »

My 1977 C-26 has no bow chocks. I purchased a pair to install, but I'm having a hard time figuring out the best placement to avoid conflicts with toe rail, jib furler, forestay, and corner of the deck. Does anyone have pictures of bow chocks on their C-26?

Thanks,

Craig

I have tried to do the same, even install another cleat or a larger cleat... I have concluded there is no room to affix them sensibly and on a strong base.... if others have managed this I'd be interesteed as well.

Considering cutting a small section out of the vertical part of toerail off on EE, just enough to fit a bow chock in there. Previously I raised the cleats above the toerails on blocks, that doesn't work, they rocked over in high wind and broke loose. Not much room for backing in that narrow area between anchor locker and toerail on 79

Had to replace bow dock line on Aislin Girl a while back, toe rail was gnawing thru it where it goes over it.
