I use lazy jacks on my 26 and I fabbed them myself two tries to get them the way I waned them and it will keep the sail on the boom as far as neatly that is up to you when you get it down to lash it down.

On my list too, but haven't yet. However I can tell you a friend who singlehands his SouthCoast 22 says they made a lot of difference for him.

I like the way they keep the main confined instead of all over the cabin top.

Good Old Boat had a nice article on making your own lazy jacks.

You can find it here: http://www.goodoldboat.com/reader_servi ... tamers.php

I did the calculations for the C22 and purchased the line, and then, like Capt. Scott, I got lazy.

I do hope to install them this spring.

I had a set on but removed them because they attached to the sail cover. Having to keep the sail cover on seemed like it created too much drag and was unsightly. The crew and I are young and dont mind huffing the sails around, but the idea of the jacks was been tossed around a time or two. I would be interested in finding out how you guys attach to the boom. Maybe I could re-rig the lower sections because I left all the hardware in place aloft.

Mine won't attach to a sail cover. They tie at three points to the boom, and travel up to a pulley on each spreader, and then down to a cleat on the mast. When you are sailing, you loosen the line at the cleat and pull all the lazy jacks forward looping them around the same cleat. Then tie off. This keeps the lazy jacks stored along side the boom and mast until you start to lower the sail. Then repeat the process in reverse.

I actually was searching for lazy jacks a couple of years ago and found easy jacks and fashioned my own as they fold to the mast after furling and stay out of the way until you are ready to lower the main.
