New C22 owner here.
Just wanted to say hi. I picked up a C22 tonight near Ann Arbor, MI. Previous owner DiverDarren has posted here in the past I see. I have been lurking around for about a week now and it seems as though there is a lot of great information here.
Here it is ready to make the 200 mile trip home with somewhat working trailer lights.

Nice boat dubbinchris. DiverDarren put a lot work in her and she looks pretty good from here. How'd the mast/cabin roof hold up on the ride back? I always used the bow pulpit and the stern rail for support.

Thanks everyone. Darren def did a lot of work to her and there is still plenty to do. The mast seemed to do well where it was. The stern pulpit seems loose so that prob why he lashed it down in that manner. I'll need to address that soon. As far as the car it's an Audi wagon. I have a European hitch installed on it that I had imported. It brings the towing capticity up to 4500 from a paltry 2000. It towed pretty good but I'll be happier when I add brakes to it.
Happy sailing! It doesn't take much time for these ol' Chryslers to get into your blood (& vice versa sometimes, w/ sweat & tears incl for good measure). You won't find a happier group of owners (& former owners)

I'm pretty experienced in driving with decent sized trailers. While its not ideal it's what I have to work with. Starting out is the only real tricky part as the 1st gear in this car is a little tall. Stopping wasn't bad as I was driving very conservatively. The trailer appears to have brakes but they aren't hooked up yet. I plan to rewire the trailer for all new LED lighting and have the brakes working for spring.

I've only owned the boat about a month at this point so I haven't had it on the water yet. I will more than likely be sailing it on Alum, but could certainly be talked into dragging it out to Buckeye 'Ocean' for the day.mga1951 wrote:Welcome aboard,,
I am just east of Cols if you need any help.. rigging..etc.
Where are you sailing at Alum.. Buckeye Ocean.
I have 76 C22 sail at Buckeye lake.
Glad to have another sailor in central ohio.
Go Bucks!! 11-0 today!!
Anyway, thanks for the welcome. I'm sure I'll have some questions for you at some point. Hopefully we can meet in person in the near future. I'd love to lay eyes on another C22 for a little compare and contrast.
Mine is a little rough and although the previous owner put a fair amount of elbow grease into her, she needs a lot more.
Welcome aboard Dubbinchris always good to see the progress in photos.
Catch the wind and ride the wave, Have fun
