What's on your Boats Toy list this coming new Year 2012

Post by Alanhod »

Christmas is just days away now.

What are you asking Santa for this year :?: I already got the Red Ryder BB gun covered.

lets see here, I want...

Radar reflector
GPS
Auto Tiller
New custom built galley. (I have to build it)
New Galley table, post and boots.
Moorage for 2012
Paint the trailer
New tires on the trailer.
Weekends to go sailing:D

Man the list gets smaller every year but the toys get more expensive as I get ever closer to getting my boat the way I want it.

Thanks
Alan

There would not be enough room on Santa's sleigh for all the things my project needs. As for more time... in a way we have all the time in the world, for time is a constant... it is we that are temporary.

I got a pair of new trailer wheels, a hitch-jack, and a nice winch! I mean... I will when Santa comes. Yeah. The fact that I installed the jack and wheels already... let's not talk about that.

Hmmm, where do I start?

1) Repair the chunk I took outta my keel on the fourth of July
2) Fill in the scratches too
3) Re seat hardware with butyl tape
4) Finish my A-frame (I ain't a gittin' any younger and my mast ain't a gittin' any lighter)
5) Get an outboard so I can try out lake St. Clair this summer
6) Clean and paint the interior of the boat.
7) Make simple cushions for V-berth
8.) Install a bilge pump
9) Fix up & paint trailer

Do the first 4 before season starts so nothing impedes sailing

I want a boat that drinks 6, eats 4, and sleeps 2.

The other night I sat down with the Defender Catalog and paged through all the pages. With note pad and pen in hand I jotted all the things it would be nice to have for the boat.
Now I just need to prioritize them.
The good thing is that the entire list only filled about 2/3 of the sheet of note paper (25 to 30 items total).
