Trailer tongue jack missing crank
Hey all, I have what appears to be an original trailer for the Chrysler 22'er. It appears to be in fabulous shaope however I am missing the crank for the tongue jack.
Does anyone out there have a photo of the crank for an original C22 trailer? I'd like to replace my crank before I have to replace the entire jack. No big deal, just figured it would be cool tohave the original working!
Otherwise I'll just replace it!
Thanks!
Scott

Scott-
Not sure if this is OEM, but it looks like the right vintage. Best pictures I have, scrapped the old jack when I replaced it.

The PO mounted a flip up model on my trailer and I like it.
Once it's off the ground you just flip it out of the way.
Only draw back is that it need to be mounted on the outside frame rail so it tends to twist the frame a little.

Thought about putting one on each side by the wheels, then I'd be able to jack the trailer up if I ever had a flat. Hmmmm.

Just a thought, Scott, I had the crank fall out of my jack and bought a new one and put it on. When I took the top off the old crank I found it's just a z bent piece of steel rod that goes through a bevel gear. The gear had a set screw to hold it in place on the rod. Could be that a new crank handle would not be all that hard to fabricate.

As well as providing jacking for a flat tire, jacks at each wheel let you take the weight off the springs for storage. They would also help in blocking up the boat off the trailer for putting on bottom paint. Harbor Freight and Tractor Supply sell non-castoring Ag equipment jacks in the 20.00 range. Of course if you had 3 castoring jacks you could move a boat sideways in a garage to get it out of the way.
