Couple new Videos for Your Entertainment

Post by Bhacurly »

Hey all :D

We had some great weather over the last week for the holiday and my days off... so I been busy sailing and at work and that's about it!

First video is with Pam over the 4th of July. Nice breeze, sunny and warm!

This one is my buddy David last friday. First time putting a reef in my new main for winds that were gusty and strong. What I learned: Reefing a sail for the first time is best done at the slip with no wind! Work out the bugs an kinks and make your adjustments there while it is calm and quiet. Not in 30 mph winds with somebody who hasn't sailed your boat much, and listening to your new impeller coming outta the water as each wave goes by... but it was a good day. We washed the windows numerous times...

Oh and another tidbit. Do not sit on the low side and film video while steering with your foot when a gust hits... and if you are at least get the shot!

Thanks for bringing us along as always Billy.
Is there a buccaneer missing a jib somewhere, lol.
She looks good in the heavy stuff.
That was a good sized puff!

Thanks all,

Jay that "storm 80" jib is actually a storm sail I got off e-bay for my Catalina 27 project... was a good deal an works fine on the C-22 in some conditions without putting up my 26sq/ft storm jib...

So, how fast do you need to be going to ski behind the boat?

Billy, that is a good looking storm/stay sail. It is the only sail I'm missing. I was thinking of using some from another boat as well.

Same here J, I would like to get my hands on a storm jib as well. Need a new main first though.

Nice vids, thanks. Since I've never actually sailed my C22 yet nor been aboard one, that slight humming noise that can sometimes be heard is coming from the keel cable?
