I've gone out on REDUX a dozen times in the last month, almost half of those trips were single handed and I really appreciate the PO,PO effort to set the boat for this kind of sailing. The boat came with an older NAVICO Tiller pilot 1800 which is a great when you are by yourself. The unit is easy to setup and I can hold a straight coarse, under power, into the wind while raising the main. One evening I sailed a dead straight line, according to my GPS, for a mile and a half in a light but steady wind, something less than 5 mph. I've used it in winds up to 15 mph so far with no complaints.

Nice videos... one would think that a windmill would be outlawed so close to a populated section of town as a safety factor. I've not looked into a NAVICO tiller before; perhaps it maybe another item to add to my wish list. How is your C26 coming alone by the way?

I agree with the tiller pilots!
If you sail solo, the tiller pilot is a fabulous addition to your boat! It will open up a whole new world of sailing for you! As noted it will hold the boat into the wind for you while you raise the main or lower and flake the main. It will allow you to get up and get a sandwich or just relax on the bow! However, remember, if you sail solo, you really need to follow Alans example and wear a life jacket all the time! If you go overboard with the tiller pilot on, your beloved sailboat will simpley sailaway without you! LOL!
I had one many moons ago and sold it with one of my boats. I always regretted letting it go. One came up for sale on the forum here a year ago so I immediately bought it.
