I have a pair of Kyoshi Fairwinds RC sailboats! At 3' long and 5' high, they are a blast! The blue one, Lady Di, is the one I take on Destiny It is stripped of most extras to avoid breaking stuff. She was a junk craigslist purchase. Her sails were shot, she literally had holes in her hull and was stored outside under trees. Basically left for junk.
Here is a shot of her in just a whisper of wind moving along nicely on Silver Lake sportin' her fresh paint and new sails I made!

Here is a shot of her plowing the waters deep in the Canadian Gulf Islands!

The second RC sloop, also a Fairwinds was purchased and built before I married my bride! She has had many face lifts ( the boat ) and is currently outfitted to look like Destiny! While not in the photos, she has a dinghy painted to match ours, an outboard on the railing, functioning port, starboard, and stern lights that turn on via RC!
In this shot, you can see the US flag and the various penants on the spreader halyard!

This shot is one of my favorites because many folks thought it was a real sailboat vs a 3' RC sailboat!

Long gone is a beautiful RC catamaran I built! That boat was a blast and was very fast. It however was lacking in a few things. When a puff of wind it the catamaran, it did not heal like the sloops so there was no visual ques that it had just accelerated. YEs, you could see the acceleration but I truely missed seeing the boat heal. Secondly, it would flip. Not often but just enough. I once had to have a stranger rescue her for me after flipping her well out of reach. Lastly she was BIG. She was not quite as long as the sloops but she was VERY wide! What a pain to store and haul in a pickup! LOL!
Long gone are the RC planes. I was very big on the planes. The helicopter was sold in the last couple of years. All that is left is one electric buggy that goes unused and the two sloops!
OK, FESS UP!! What are those RC sailboats that are lurking in your closets? Any other RC toys? You must tell us!!
