Chrysler man o war - mainsheet

Wondering if anyone could help a new Chrysler sailor. I have rigging my man o war that I got from my neighbor. I just completed restoring her. I was wondering was sign line would be the best?

3/8 by 50, polyester or nylon?

I don't know if anyone has directed you here. It's a manual for the Man-O-War. You should find everything you are looking for there.
