New to me C22 owner. Rigging???

Post by Sandpiper1973 »

Just got a 1979 C22 Sandpiper pop top with galley and the original 10 Hp Chrysler O/B. On a Chrysler tandem axle trailer. A new main and Jib and the old main. Still in good shape just stained a bit. This thing is a time vault.
Missing is the Main sheet, Boom Vang, Jib sheet's. No anchor, No fuel tank or line and no battery. No cushions, No equipment. Boat was obliviously emptied at some point and parts have been separated. And all the lines are dead and need replacing?

Now the please help me part?

What anchor, line and chain do I need?
What are the length and size of the main and fore stay halyards?
What is the length and size for the sheets and vang, All of them?
What winch wrench do I need?
What should I be watching for when I float her?
Where do I find an old Chrysler fuel line and tank. It's a strange air line looking connection

Any help on this would be great;y appreciated.
Let me know if you need pics?

Congratulations on your new acquisition . Post some pictures when you get a chance. If you search this site for manuals you will find information on all the Chrysler sailboats . For the c22 and c26 there are a complete set of manuals including information on the running rigging and set up procedures. If you have trouble finding it let me know and I’ll get you the information if I can.

Congrats -
There is a lot of info in the site already
I noticed you are in Ontario, I'm as well - have several files that I have collected that may be useful.
There is a rigging pdf file in the manuals
Thx

Sandpiper,
The info on the c22 is extensive and detailed if you go through all the pages and includes detailed information on all the rigging and setup. Line sizes are mixed in in various places. Down haul and halyards are listed as 5/16”, lengths are also given , main sheet is listed as 3/8” . I did not find a listing for jib sheet dia but it can be any size comfortable, I believe most use the same size as the main sheet. Also many use a 3/8” halyard as it is easier on the hands to get it tight. If you go to the last pages in the manual it gives good basic instruction for setting keel depth as well as sail adjustment.
Have fun

Thank you everyone for the comments.
Got all new ropes today. YAY
All but 2 that I forgot. Booo
That's the tiller/Rudder ropes. I has a look in the Docs again but found nothing on lengths/size or how to replace. Hoping someone here is a C22 Rudder /Tiller Guru.
Probably 3/8 and 4 feet each or something like that but I haven't seen anything on how they attach inside the Rudder.
Thanks again your input is truly helping
