Any North Carolina Chrysler sailors lurking around here by chance?

Just saw your post. I sail on the Bay River in Pamlico County. We are just outside Oriental. My C26 is a project boat I never seem to work on. I sail on a Venture 22. We are down there 5 or so times a year for 3 or 4 weeks at a time. We split our time between Pa, NC, and the Jersey shore where we have another Venture 22.

Where do you sail?

I sail my Chrysler 22 on Lake Waccamaw mostly. I've got it moored there at a small sailing club. I've also got a Hobie 16 which tends to be my travel boat.

Oriental is such a nice place. I love visiting.

Virginia here. I lived in NC for a long time.

I'm actually preparing for this year's NCSail Pirates trip to Cape Lookout in late September.

Gus:

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but how does your C22 do on the Pirate Sail?

I was in Beaufort in early October, (several years ago, on my C22) and started out the inlet to head toward Cape Lookout. I made it to the Queen Anne's Revenge buoy before chickening out. To my untrained eye, the waves were about 6 feet, and my friend was looking mighty green, so we turned around.

What are the typical wave conditions when you guys do the Pirate Sail?
