Long Winter...

Post by astrorad »

5 days since anyone posted anything....it is a very long winter...snow is piled so high in my driveway I cannot see what is coming down the street when backing out. Reading Sail, Practical Sailor, Chapman's ( 4/5ths the way thru), Handbook of Sailing, and watching videos from Cruising LeaLea.
Just posting to keep forum from crumbling to dust...LOL Cheers Everyone!!

Something to pass the time til spring, www.jigzone.com Its online jigsaw puzzles. There are hundreds of pictures to choose from and you can change the cut and quantity of the pieces. It gives you the average time and your time to do the puzzle. WARNING...extremely addictive. I do about 10 a night. I usually do 40 -70 pieces. Have fun.

Yeah.......its been below 40* at night! Get up to 70 in the afternoon though
I'm still saving my shekels to replace my trailer. The old one is too corroded to hope of saving. Between that and needing dental work there ain't much happening in the yachting biz.

I got so bored that I started to build a boat in the garage. It is not much of boat it is called a one sheet skiff and like the name implies it is made from a single sheet of 1/4 ply. I even ripped down some 2 by 4's glued up the blades and am making a set of oars. I planned the blades down to about 1/2 inch so I got to make a lot of sawdust. There are some guys that have put sails on the boat but I just wanted a small light weight boat to fly fish in some of the small lakes we have around here. :D
