new chrysler c22 owner

Post by midwestsailor »

Hello everyone, A new C22 owner here. Got her about 2 weeks ago and have been cleaning it up for a ride later this spring/summer. The old girl came with all the documentation from new including sales brocures and manuals for all the parts put on it. Roller furler, 2 spinikers and poles brand new main and jib, never used, autohelm (which i'll never use, my home lake is to small) 9.9 chrysler outbord and enough anchors, rope, dock bumpers for 3 boats.
The hull has been painted dark blue and needed buffed which i did last weekend. Shines like new now. Trailer needs new tires, I already went through the bearings and seals.
Cant wait for the threat of snow to leave so we can go and shake her down.
One question i do have is this: The boom doesn't appear to be origional. I made a pin to use it to raise the mast. The instructions say to slide it (the pin) into the mast and use the boom to lift it. I cant find where to put it in the boom. There is not a hole or anything...Am I looking at this right?

Welcome aboard!
It does sound like you got a nice boat!

The pin fits into the base of the mast and into one end of the boom!

Hey more new blood from my area. Things must be start be starting to thaw out up here. Sounds like you found yourself a nicely equipped vessel there. I might be interested in the auto helm if you don't want it. Welcome aboard!

Welcome aboard ship mate!

So you have an Auto tiller your never going to use do you!?? I will send you a Personal Message here on the form to inquire if you are interested in selling that poor neglected auto tiller that you have no use for, to a fellow C22 owner hear on the West Coast.

And as we all say here often, "Pictures" my friend, lots of "Pictures" please. And also any questions or innovations you have about your boat.

Thanks
Alan
