MAIN SAIL TO LARGE?

Post by Denny Todd »

Hi,
I purchased this C-22 from a pawn shop. I do not know the original owner. The main sail was rolled up on the boom. When I raised the main sail for the first time, it is to large to pass the backstay cable. What am I doing wrong.

The sail is wrong it looks like the sail for a Hobie cat.

Welcome to the chrysler world.

Now that you know what sail you have, eBay is a quick way to get rid of it, I've seen a few used main sails but none for a C22. I think santa is going to bring me a new main, about $475 plus shipping.

Bought in a pawn shop? There's a start to a neat story, gota ask, what DOES a C22 go for in a pawn shop?

Pawn shop $ 650. Where do I get the correct sail for $ 475.00?

Is your boat a standard or tall rig? Here is a page of standard size options.

Congrats on the score. Firgure a sailboat trailer, to someone needing one, is at least a grand. Plus the outboard, plus the boat.

Pawn shop... We gonna see you on TV?
