Any Dagger sailors on board?

I was just given a project boat that I determined is a 1978 Dagger. I'm missing a few critical parts so I need some info from current Dagger owners/sailors that would be willing to help me with dimensions and/or photos.

The parts I need are:
1. Boom - length and other dimensions, how does it attach to the mast?

2. Dagger board - Dimensions, are the edges feathered or rounded?

3. Rudder assembly - I really need some help here. I need to figure out if I can graft a rudder head from another boat to work (Laser?) and then fabricate a rudder. I'll need dimensions for that as well.

4. Sail- I've found the P &E dimensions on another site (P=19' 9" and the E = 8' 7"

I think I have all the other info I need to get me on the road to recovery. I'll check the mast closely this weekend and hopefully be able to extract some more info from it that might help me with the sail and boom. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Hi Lastfin. Did you ever find the information you were looking for?

I found about half of the information I need. I've found the sail measurements and from there was able to guesstimate the boom length.

I think I can extrapolate some measurements for the rudderhead based on known measurements from the gudgeon bracket and applying those to pictures from the documents section and fab the rudderhead.

Assuming the information I'm gathering from other sites is accurate I should be able to fab the dagerboard and get the proper length. The rudder is a different story, that will be a pure guess. I'm not sure of the validity of the data however. For example the Chrysler documentation says the sail area is 85 sq ft, yet the sailrite page shows 73 sq ft.

I have chased down the mast and I think it's made by Dwyer but I haven't contacted them yet.

If anyone has any detailed photos that they could share or dimensions that that would be a trmendous help.

There is a Dagger for sale in the for sale section and the owner claims to have all original docs! He has promised to share copies with me. When he does, I'll for sure make them available here!

I have a complete dagger that I am restoring as well. I'd be glad to help you out with photos and dimensions, if you still need them. Ill try to post some in the next few days.

Hey, Lastfin. I just bought a Dagger, and it came with two complete rudder assemblies and two daggerboards. If you're still in the market, I'd be game for selling them to you.
