Separate hull from deck on man o war???

Postby GlennH » Mon Apr 23, 2012 1:26 pm

Anyone ever take the deck off of a man o war?

Had the same boat in 1973 for2years. Just bought another one with no sail.

Where is a good place to have a new sail made?

I just purchased a used MOW and having worked at a boat repair place for several summers in my youth, I know that you only do that kind of thing if you have a well-equipped shop, all the right tools and knowhow to put it all back together. The deck is stapled to the hull AND glassed together on mine. I know enough to reglass weak areas, etc. but I wouldn't even consider trying to separate the deck and hull. Cut out inspection ports instead to gain access to areas you need to get to
