I just bought a c26 fixed keel. Im stoked shes rough but in sound shape. however there has been a stripping of all electronics from it. thank god they left the mast alone. but I was wondering if anyone had a diagram for what its supposed to be or maybe a few ideas of what to do.
thanks

Welcome to the forum!

I'm not aware of any wiring diagrams, maybe one of the 26 owners can pipe in!

Again, Welcome!

I'm now an owner of both the C-22 you see on my avatar and a well stripped C-26 once owned by our friend Sauerleigh.

The way I see it, that's the perfect time to set your boat up with just what you want. Get into a book or two to keep you out of trouble. Don Casey and Nigel Calder are a couple favorites, but there are many. It doesn't have to be elaborate, just safe.

Good luck!

Welcome aboard !

I've never seen a factory diagram, but the C26 didn't appear to come with much more than a battery feeding a fuse box, the nav lights, 4 cabin lights (stern berth, cabin, head, and vberth). The cabin lights had their own switch so they didn't go thru a power panel, The nav lights on EE were just a single toggle switch after the fuse box, and that was about it.

If it helps, I can tell you that on EE the wiring for the bow lights runs under the port banquette into a pipe that carries them thru to the bow. The wires for the head and vberth lights go along the port banquette, then turn under the head, then run up a corner trim piece near the mast step, then thru a trim piece above the head doorway.

Wasn't much there originally...

Still no one with an OEM wiring schematic?
Even a modified system? My acquisition has an original distribution panel below the galley as well as one starboard inside the companion way with operational switches for running, cabin, bilge and several acc. Switches.

hello everyone
My c-26 has a fuse panel on the port side under the sink. 3 "RED" wires feed the fuse panel and each fuse on the back side seems to be attached to each other (almost like a series connection) I can't find a different color wire attached to the fuse panel ,like maybe a ground (-). These fuses are the old fashion type tubes with a glass fuse inside attached to a cap that turns into the tube for connections. I have had the boat for 25 years and never had a electrical issue until this winter when I had to rebuild my battery box floor in the back port side. I unhooked all the positive wires and taped them together as I also did the same with all the negative (-) wires. When the fiberglass repairs were done, I started attaching the ground wires to my main battery ground bolt, and the same with the positive wires to the master switch. Somehow I got a ground wire mixed in and later as I was fixing to leave the boat I Smelled plastic burning, I turned the master off, and found that I had heated up about 4 feet of purple wire, and none of the "old fashion" fuses had blown! Since than I have been trying to trace where this fuse panel wiring goes, I gave up and ran a new wire to the Navigation lights so I could Sail. I'm still working on the cabin lights, I know there is a white & black wire feeding, but the previous owner has built things over the wiring. Long ago a separate circuit breaker panel was added and thank goodness nothing happen to that and every circuit works. I guess when I put it in the shed I'll have a new project. A color coded diagram would sure be nice . Raven26
