Low Boom

Post by jeremyh »

It seems to me that the boom is way to low. When I have the main on, I can't look past it to see the other side. When the sail is up, then I can just see a bit under the boom.

I have included some photos of the unstepped mast. The stop block looks like I can loosen it and slide it. I have also notices that I few people have a different set up.

Be easy, I am still learning.

Had similar problem - I think

Post by AquardMoments1 »

Last year was my first year with my own boat. I had the problem with the boom being too low. Turned out I did not have the sail raise all the way. (I had to look at a few other rigs to figure that out). Once I saw that the boom is supposed to be high above the cockpit I quickly realized the sail was not raised all the way up. DOH! :)
