Bobby. I have the same outboard on a Compac 23. If you can supply it with ethanol free fuel its a good idea. Based on what I've read, the small carb passages are known to clog a touch and affect low idle stalling and cause rich mixture issues, and also float sticking/flooding issues. They seem to be...

EE has huge copper cables that run from the chainplates down under the banquettes then back under stern berth area to an external zinc plate. But honestly there are several 90 degree bends along the way, and I seriously down a big honking blast of voltage would follow that path without jumping ship...

A 27...wow, they didn't make many of those. In theory they share the same design as a Morgan 27, so possibly there's a match between the mast steps there. Otherwise its probably a trip to a shop to have it replicated.. Click on the email link and send me the pic if you like, I can probably post it, ...

Prop stopped turning when switching to reverse at lowest revs. Motor will still start first pull, revs up, water pump working. The prop will now spin by hand even if in gear. Shear pin? Spun hub? (No laughing allowed) - The last time I had to do that on EE at the dock by myself (main halyard came loose from sail and pulled the shackle to the top), I brought my extension ladder from home. Tied the jib halyard to the top rung, placed the foot of the ladder against the rear of the forward hatch...

Good job ! Reminds me of that email conversation we had about how our modern fiberglass hulls are so maintenance free that we don't think about the attachments and also they tend to outlive the things like thru hulls and plumbing.. Wooden boats are just more of an upkeep mindset (as opposed to our '...

Yep, it normally faces the other way, altho I suppose this works for raising the mast 'bow to stern' as well as it does the normal way...and yes a mast hinge plate is a huge improvement over either of those choices !

From the pics it looks like compression damage from the spreader bolt being pulled too tight. If you pull the pin and remove the arms you'll see a bolt head on one side and the nut on the other. But likely there's no bushing/sleeve in between to keep that from happening. Hard to tell from pics how m...

Ira, a great source for knowledge and parts from Chrysler outboards is Franz Buddenberg - think Guru, and old school...be sure to have your model and serial number when you contact him, he'll want both.

EE does have a mast gate and I like it compared toabove the feed slot on the CP23, but on EE the mast gate covers the slot, so you get a few more slugs/flakes down closer to the boom.

And also uses snap shackle blocks in the toe rail for the sheets. Sorry, but not sure of size

I think the measurement ensures that the bridle center eye is at exactly the right height and fore/aft spot to be aligned with the mast hook IF the bridles are attached to the toerail slots specified in the manual. And that's the key location. So however you use the chain and whatever toerail slots ...

I gave up on the bridles a while back, and made up a more adjustable version using chain and carabiner clips. You can then just make sure the center clip on each chain aligns with the mast step, and is also clipped into the right toe rail slots by trial and error. Also lets me reset the whole thing ...

EE had a key in the rudder post mated with a slot in the tiller head.
