Simple . . . solid . . . bullet proof. The perfect hardware in my mind. I plan to bring a spare bag and load up at the Chicago Strictly Sail if I can make it up this year.

I apologize for the late response . . . Divorce just entered my life as I recover from back surgery. I have the stock Selden spars with the stock Chrysler spec hook hinge. I think the Rigrite plate is the one the previous owner installed. I love the thing. I hammered the front and back down to make ...

Thanks guy's. I've been reading Perry's book on yacht design. When I read about the challenges of designing a hull and the sweet spot of heel angle for best waterline length it got me to wondering. I've been roughly where you guy's are maybe just a tad closer to 30 at times. I can't find documentati...

C26 Heel Angle Sweet Spot

Any of you Guy's have any input. What's your angle? After all this time I haven't quite figured it out.

Embarrassed to say . . .

Be extremely careful. The aluminum hook going into the slot on the bottom of the mast will snap right off if the mast is allowed to sway to one side. Keep it centered with the centerline of the boat as it comes down. having the boat pointed into the wind when you do it is a plus.

Thanks Terrence, I have a huge list of needs in my restoration this year. Cost cutting is a major concern. I like the double mainsheet thing. I hate the current stock set up. I'm actually looking forward to the new system. If I don't like it I'll go traveler but spend the extra for a good one.

If the trailer is in good shape that could be a steal. Maybe a new forum member on the way. For me . . . I do NOT care for wheel steering on anything less than 30 feet. Make that 35 feet.

A heads up . . . Odds are you won't find a perfect match. Dimensions have changed slightly since our boats were built. West Marine has a great catalog. Try to get one. Defenders catalog is not as good but their website is better. Good luck!

Thanks sauerleigh. I hadn't thought of the fix it for the season angle as they discussed. I'm under a lot of pressure to get the boat in the water for the local concert/sailing season. As much as I want to be in the water I think I'll take the time now to get her done right and shoot for being in by...
