When we bought our Beneteau 40 we promptly added bottom siders to her. QWe love them. The boat ride is much more c...

Our cushions have held up extremely well and they are nearing 5 years old for the current set. We walk on them, sit on them, and generally abuse them. They get the typical dirtyness and salt water periodically. We simply hose them down and maybe even scrub them if necessary. We have the strip to mat...

Well, at the request of some other folks, I have added the Gallery to my main page. I have also changed the format since some folks indicated the number of photos was input overload! So now it is broken up by pages. The pages can be dynamic as I add photos. I have many more but am trying to limit to...

PICTURES!
I have a question for all of you! I have a HUGE collection of photos that are all taken one one or another sailing trip. I've taken a sampling of some and posted them on my site. Is there interest in these? Do you think folks would really sit and enjoy them? Any input would help! Thank! Scott http:/...

Well, for what it's worth, I've taken all the comments here in this post to heart. I will not be attempting to step the mast again on the 76 until my new mast step hinge arrives. I found one just like what is on my 75 here http://www.rigrite.com/Spars/SparParts/Mast_hinges.html Part K-1374 If anyone...

I live in Everett just North of Seattle. Sailing season never ends here for us. As the needs of students wind down, the weather gests more blustery! LOL! So . . . . Lots of family time on Destiny! Winter projects for me include a new mast step hinge for my 1976, all new running rigging, new goosenec...

Thanks for all the info guys, I certainly appreciate it. And yes, I did the attempt without the bridles. I'm certain the bridles would have eliminated the problem. I also have now looked closely at the mast step on the 75 with the hinge. That appears to be non standard. I already have emails out to ...

Dang. Well, tonight was a bust. Got the blue hull ready for the mast and had a couple of neighbors over for the lifting of the mast! The mast hanging over the stern of the boat also went over my shed on the side of the house. I gave each neighbor a halyard and instructions. I then got on the roof of...

If all goes well . . . .
I hope to step the mast on my 1976 C22 for the first time tonight! I spent an hour yesterday putting in all the clevis pins, checking the shrouds, and checking the stays. This mast is not hinged like the 75 is. It is however slid back and in place ready to go up as soon as my neighbors come home and...

Solar trickle chargers? Anyone?
I'm curious as to if anyone here uses a solar trickle charger to keep the boat battery charged when not in use? If you use or have used one, what was your experience and what charger, amperage, or watts was provided to the battery and what was the outcome? West Marine has 3 offered up and I'm consid...

Re: Trailers
This being the time of year, we think of trailers. Look at the 1980 S-2 26 fotter on E-Bay, an look at it's trailer I can't see it. Bummer! speaking of trailers, I currently have two. One is a nice full square stock, surge brake, and has slide on type of boat support. The other is made of I-Beams, ...
