33 feet should be more than enough. An easy way to figure how long you mainsheet should be is, rig the mainsheet as it should be, then swing the boom out 90 degrees from center and add about a foot from the cam cleat, and that should do it. Since you should never have you sail farther than 90 degree...

Q. how does this unit work... ? just push it forward and it shifts forward and accelerates? same as reverse in one single throw of the lever ? I have what I thought was a storm jib, but now that I measured its a bit large for a storm...Luff 16', Leach 13', Foot 8'6"and there is a 12' leader at the tack. However I have never flown it, usually the 90 with a reef or 2 in the main will handle the higher winds. Here is a site with a lot of...

Summer Sailstice on the St. Croix River, upper midwest found light winds with no wakes zone due to flooding. The light winds allowed us to shake out the 150 jib that I picked up in eBay last year. Is sail will be great for the days that the wind was less that 7mph when we would not usally go sailing...

How are you planning on attaching it to the hull, or will it still be portable?
How wide are your steps?

Welcome Sea_Green Personally I don't really miss not having pushpit railing. I think it makes it a lot easer to get up the stern ladder when swimming off the boat with out it, and with the back stays on the stern you have some hand holds if needed. However if you plan on stepping your mast for trail...

I no engineer, but I think the key is the shape of the bracket. Notice how the shape of the bracket is the widest were it meets the hull were it's 1" thick, so any twisting loads are transfered to the strongest point if the hull. As for the thickness of the mounting location, I would be unwise ...

Personally, for the ease of cleaning the cock-pit and the stern locker is a lot easer to keep that a locker wet. It easy to hose everything down and have it drain out. Also since I keep my fuel tank in the stern locker I feel the drains give that area the extra ventilation to keep gas fumes from bui...

Corey, do you just need the windows or the entire Pop up inclosure? I created an enclosure that velcros between the top of the pop-up and the base. It works well, but I wonder how well it would hold in a heavy blow. http://i929.photobucket.com/albums/ad138/rbakersacres_photos/Sailboat/th_IMG_2305.jpg
