For my AC225 model I installed a 50amp breaker and used the 50A 250V NEMA 6-50R Receptacle . Very close to a clothes dryer type plug except the blades are parallel.

As for the nylon rod tensioner, I agree not a great design, but I think it was included on the later models, not the other way around. I have a 1980 C22 that has the tensioner. Since we're on the subject, the tensioner is not completely a bad idea. To properly work, the tension would have to be exer...

Same here. Dropped my keel couple weeks ago and in the process of chipping away all the rust. Air hammer does a nice job if you have one, but sounds like you're going the blast route. I have a lot of heavy pitting on mine and need to grind smooth much as I can. Once you're down to bare metal, there ...

George, I have a 1980 C22 that I'm restoring and have heard others on this forum mention the foam being saturated, but I haven't seen that with mine. Not sure if the later models used a different foam or not. I've heard where some owners remove the foam completely. If I suspected moisture, I would c...

Here's a nice link that shows running halyards aft to cockpit which will definitely be necessary for solo sailling. Running Halyards Aft to Cockpit I used a similar setup on my C22 with two Harken #140 Big Bullet Block with Cam Cleat at base of mast for halyards, and a Spinlock Deck Organizer to rou...

Rigging shops never 'guess'
Rigging shops want your exact measurements. They would never 'guess' the length. Tune your mast exactly to your liking, then take those measurements to the rigger. The measurement is terminal end-to-terminal end including turnbuckles. Turnbuckles should be set to allow plenty of room for tightening ...

Greg, yes, the potential for real damage is definitely possible on grounding with keel locked. I was thinking about some type of tensioner that would be spring loaded where it would release under heavy force, but stay engaged during heavy pitching. Im thinking maybe a ball plunger type tensioner tha...

Locking the keel
Greg, thanks for bringing that up.. I'm considering installing a keel locking mechanism on my C22. I know some of the Catalina's have such a feature, although I haven't actually studied their design. My C22 has the snubber tension knob for the keel, but I've seen several posts on this forum say how ...

Spreader rake
Looking to replace the stock spreaders on my C22 mast with the air foil types from Dwyer. Has anybody done that and what rake angle did you go with? The stock spreaders look like 0 degrees.
Thanks,
Bob

On this same note, does anyone have a high quality image (.jpg, etc.) of the C22 sail logo? If you were to have one screen printed, what image would you use? Check this out. Re: C22 Sails from "The Sail Warehouse"
70 degrees here this weekend, to celebrate I ordered a new main sail from the Sail Warehouse on Friday, and withing an hour had a FEDEX tracking number. Trying to figure out how to put a logo and sail numbers on the new main. I have what's left of the original main. How have you guys done the logo ...

One end of the wires all end up at the switch panel(s) but what about the other ends? Obviously they end up at the device they control but where else can I reach the void from to pull wires through? The main wiring harness for cabin, mast, nav lights, etc is behind that panel. That's what makes it ...

Well I did assume there was space behind there once you cut the hole, but my real question is how/where does it communicate with other areas of the boat to determine with path? That connector sounds nice and if it takes 8 guage then that's about all I'd need. I'm familiar with those little somewhat...
