The biggest problem I see is the fact that there aren't many right angles in the original galley. Every thing is shaped to fit the hull except for one corner. My galley is still out and will be the last thing put back in. You are welcome to stop by and make patterns if you are up this way.

I stripped down the mast and used it for a ridge pole. One 1x4 cross buck at each end lashed to the pull pit and stern rail and a lenth of PVC over the mast step. I used a T shaped piece of aluminum in the end of the pipe to help give me some thing to lash the mast to. I put a few lenghts of left ov...

I live in Western NC so there are still lots of furniture business around. One of the guys I sail with owns a foam company. On his advice I got 4 inch thick foam ...

Johnson Manual
Need the service manual for your Johnson? I had a '92 and still have the manual. How about $10 or what do you have to trade?

I have adjusted trailers at the ramp a few times. It is not that difficult but you will need to make sure the trailer can go far enough in to get under the keel. Be prepared to get wet for a couple of hours. I would do it on a day when you can have a long time to work on it. My 26 needed a 10 ft ton...

A trailer would have to be galvanized before it is assembled and painted. Typically the whole frame is welded up and then sent to be hot dipped in zink. The painted trailer should last a long time if you just be really obsesive about rinsing after a salt water bath. I always go to the nearest car wa...

Glad to see your both are OK, and the boat was saved. I thought about you guys when I heard it on the radio. Personally I am more afraid of the cold than the rough water. If you need a new main sail check out the J22 main sails. Looking at sites like Bacon Sails the dimesions are very similar. The J...

I used a short festoon led bulb in my Ensign masthead light, and I am very happy with the results. The Chrysler 26 has the same Perco mast head light and I plan to use the same bulb. It is one of the 9 led festoon bulbs here: [http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispPage&am...
