Thanks guys... I'm really not all work and no play, the keel itself is good just needs a bit of work and a paint job. It's the shoes that may give me trouble and if the shoes come off the keel will automatically follow.

This maybe old hat to others using Photobucket, but they changed up the page on me. At first I wanted to stay with the old page... my reluctant view of changing times. Now I'm told I've got no chose... reminds me of the last election. I'll hold my tongue and move forward... even an old dog can learn...

This PNM can catch you off guard real quick... I felt with just my C26 I was safe, but having to add my two 17' canoes has pushed me into the advanced stage and if I find me a smaller sailboat to play with... I'll really be in deep. Not that any of this is a bad thing... in fact it sure would be nic...

Here is my two cents worth. Most of the people looking for a sailboat want something ready to go with most of the bells/whistles of today's sailing already in place. 30+ year old Chryslers most often don't fit that bill. The one I'm restoring came with little to nothing on the way to the glue factor...

I've been looking for a smaller sailboat relatively cheap to play with while I work on my C26. This Siren 17' sailboat popped up in fairly rough condition... but as long as it sails... oh well. I sent Alan a pm telling him what it was, but seeing that others may want to know... here it is my top secret process. :wink: The two sections of the settee are the same, the aft section was getting a lot of direct sun light at the time of the photo. What you are seeing is the weave of the fiberglas...

Alan The finish is just the outcome of a lot of sanding, two coats of primer and two coats of topside paint. If you are referring to the photo in my last post about insulation or dampeners, it is only two or three coats of old paint covered by layers of old nasty mold. This section looks a bit bette...

This is all in fun guys... don't feel slighted in any way if your storage section has not been painted. The only real reason I painted my was out of necessity... this C26 was nasty from top to bottom when it came to me, as you can see in the photo. A smart guy would have passed this one by... not to...

Come on guys be truthful.... how many of us have gone so far as to sand, prime and paint the storage section of our settees?

Tim Your C22 looks good overall, check out your keel pin a lot of C22s need a little work in that area. It could be nothing but you may want to strip the paint off the mast step to check things out. Thanks for the photos everyone, I've heard that 2 stroke motors are loud and bad on gas and oil. At first glance it looks like the Johnson 15hp motor is placed directly on the old C26 motor mount. I too am curious about the weight... has any beefing up of the old mount been done? Good question KeyWest... I too will be crossing this bridge at some point on my C26. I've seen some of the C26 sailors build a small extension on the original motor mount to accommodate tilt problems. The old ugly box you spoke of was most likely a P.O's attempt to do the same.
