Fractional rig or masthead?
I asked a version of this question on one of the other forums. My jib has about a 12-18" cable at the foot with a snap shackle. However, I noticed that the jib did not go all the way to the masthead. I started wondering and experimenting and tied a line to the foot of the jib so that the jib AL...

What I use,
Greg, I use a Rule 750, http://www.rule-industries.com/products/pumps/bilge_pumps/rule_700750/iid_239/index.htm, and will put one more this winter. Windwalker has been on the hard for a year and in that time the first one has stopped working so will install a second, and fix the first. The bilge spa...

Memories
My first sailboat was a Lone Star 16, I didn't know what it was it then, all I new was how well she sailed. She sold me on Chrysler boats and I now own a 26'. The remarkable thing about this boat was how save it is. I tried to turn her over in 35-40 knots of wind and was not able to, between the wid...

Top side leaks
Toerail. The hull and the deck on Windwalker on the port side has about a 3/4 inch gap and water gets between the toerail and the hull. I had to strip the inside padding off the hull to believe it. On my list to fix. Since I'm on the hard for the next 6 months I may even have time to do it!

Hello
I'm here in Spokane. The boat is in storage at the moment, I'm trying to find a leak between the deck and hull (it's amazing how much water will leak in from snow melt!). The slip is on hold until I can get my house sold back east (everything seams to be on hold until then!). In the mean time I seam...

Cushions
I'm in the middle of recovering my cushions now. Foam is no problem, local sources are fine. For fabric, I found Sailrite has some of the best prices for Sunbrella (I only want to do this once, so I buy the best). I have measured drawings for all of my 78 C26 cushions (I did this to figure out how m...

Portlights
Great job!, Now I'm going to have to follow suit, as soon as I get my shop moved. I'll ask the question most are thinking, are those new portlights and where did you get them. I have the original aluminum frames that I replaced the lexan, but am searching for good replacements. Looks like you may ha...

Plan to sail
I'm planning, at the moment and depending on economics, law, etc., to sail Lake Pend Oreille in northern Idaho. I will also be in Spokane. Our plans have changed slightly and I am now planning to tow the boat myself. It will give me a chance to work on it while I wait for my family to sell the house...

Moving the boat cross country
I am relocating from North Carolina to Eastern Washington state, a move of about 2700 miles, and plan to take my Chrysler 26 with me. Does anyone have any recommendations for a company to tow my boat. My trailer is less then 10 years old and in excellent condition.

Leeping Chrysler Lizards!
Jeff, I would also like to add my thanks for taking on that website. I posted a request to have my name added to the list 18 months ago with no response. Now that I know Child's Play was lost I can understand. I would be devastated if I lost S/V Windwalker (my 26). Let us know when you have time for...

Why not 4200/5200, here's why
The question was asked a while ago as to why epoxy and never answered. If you mount the transducer outside the hull anything will work, but inside the hull, i.e. through the hull (as apposed to thru-hull), you need a media that will transmit sound efficiently without absorption. This means no flexib...

Wanted: C26 Toe Rail
I need a starboard toe rail for My C26. I had to take out about 1 foot in the center, leaving the rail 1 foot short at the bow. I would like to replace it with original type. Aluminum, not black anodized.

Good suggestion with the wax! The instructions included with my transducer were to test it with the transducer in water in a partially flooded hull, the transducer in the water inside the hull. You need a denser media then air to transmit the ultrasound waves. You could build a dam with the wax ring...

I have a humminbird depth sounder mounted just aft and about 1 foot to starbord of the rear bilge, under the cockpit, just under the plywood that gives you access to the bilge. I have had no problem with the readings. The hull is solid glass with no core (1978 C26). I have thru-hulls on starbord and...
