Sounds good. One thing that I did not mention: I did find that in a few spots around the frames that it could use a little bit of extra butyl rubber, so I shaped it with my fingers into a "string" and pressed it into the frame with a putty knife. The stuff fuses together really well. I do ...

Hi guys, it's been a while since I posted. I've been busy with two small children, and my lake level got so low that the boat was trapped for a while. I even took my rudder off because I was afraid it would get damaged as the boat appeared that it was going to sink down into the mud. Finally we got ...

Scott, one of my coworkers has a 1970 Pontiac LeMans with a fully punched out 455 in it (it's a beast). He had a heck of a time finding radial T/A's for it. I think he finally did find a set. So he now has extinct tires on an extinct car brand. Kinda sad in a way. Seeing these American icons disappe...

Re: keel

One day I want to replace the keel pin with a nice stainless unit... ... is there any way i can check the pin to make sure it is solid enough that I wont loose the keel... As a specific response regarding the actual pin, it's a bit hard to see, but mine has always looked pretty shiny from down belo...

I have a new stainless set that I bought from Idasailor about a year and a half ago. I am very apprehensive about tackling the project. Mine did NOT come with the mounting holes predrilled, which leads me to believe that they were not all created using a standard hole pattern. Does anyone know if th...

Ditto again what Banshi said. I'm still keeping my OEM main in service like many others. I have a couple of rips about that length that I have had to patch as well. If I can offer any advice it would be to first put down some sail tape, then stitch, then put another section of sail tape over the sti...

Hey, with the right weather window, anything is possible, just ask the folks who fled Cuba in inflatable rafts. I'm fairly sure that a C22 has made that voyage. I even read a rumor somewhere that one had sailed from Cali to Hawaii, though I would be quite reserved in making such a trip with a...

Wow, there was some speculation that they lost the keel, but after seeing the video it's apparent that it wasn't a self righting boat. Sad :(

Oh no, they've had a catastrophe. God bless. CHICAGO (Reuters) - Two sailors died when their 35-foot sailboat capsized in a storm, while six crew members were pulled from Lake Michigan by another boat competing in the annual Race to Mackinac, the Coast Guard said on Monday. http://news.yahoo.com/two...

Keith, I move the blocks along the toerail for the various sails (110, 150, 170), that's about it. If they are too far back with the 110 hanked on, the foot goes tight with a loose leach that spills too much wind out of the top. And obviously, if I had a bigger sail on and I'm too far forward on the...

Sounds like it would work, but it would probably increase your heel a bit. FWIW I have an OEM 170 genny and it works wonderfully on those really light days.

I put a new clam cleat on my tiller and have had no problems since. I have experienced sailing in pretty good weather with the rudder back about 10 degrees (before I replaced the cleat), and it was uncontrollable almost to the point of panic. But, like Scott said, if it's all the way down, the rudde...
