Any advice for a novice sailor on where to place said blocks (fore and aft) in relation to different size headsails? Tom Capt Bondo has good advice on which way to move and mark the blocks. You can also get a ballpark location by sighting along the jib sheet towards the sail. That line should usual...

Had same issue with EE; I just substituted small clevis pins with clips for the bolts/nuts where the top of the steps attached to the brackets. To keep the lower end from sliding forward I used small strips of teak to make a 'stop' in front of them. Remove the clips and pins, pull the steps, and sto...

You'll probably have to look thru the on line catalogs at http://www.rigrite.com/ or a similar site and hope for something similar since there are no parts for the old boats per se ..since those two parts are attachment point you may can get some flat straps to attach to each end of the boom and dri...

Re: My toe rail seems to no longer fit the hull deck seam .
Cold enough to change the length of the metal toe rail as opposed to the fiberglass hull ? Guess would have to be really really cold for there to be a difference tho...dennyzen wrote:and it was cold and windy.

AS EE said, you might do better just measuring what you have for standing rigging and get a sail that is close to fit! As an example I purchased a brand new mizzen sail off a large ketch. Used it as a main for a C22! Worked perfectly as the sizes were almost a perfect match! Saved a ton of money ov...

Welcome ! There's a pic of the U end of the boom in the manual on page 4 - browse to the main page at www.chryslersailors.com then choose Documentation, then scroll down to 'C15_Man-O-War /ManOWar.pdf' I only see the sail area listed as 85sf at http://sailboatdata.com/viewrecord.asp?class_id=4861 A ...

Welcome ! One thing about leaks at the stanchions that would concern me is was any water damage done to the deck core around the stanchions, so look for soft spots there. The boats are somewhat prone to toerail leaks, but no more than others of the same design.. I think the C20, C22, and C26 all hav...

Re: C22 mainsail backhaul
At the boom end, there is no block, no turn-around that I can tell, and other than using the clevis pin itself as a turn-around, I'm not sure what was intended. Stock setup should have the block at the boom end.. http://captainscottsailing.com/ChryslerDocs/C22_Sandpiper/c22boom.pdf Don't have pics ...

Many years ago I wrote a database app at work, and it contained a prompt for a phone number in a specific format. And of course there was the helpful pop up that occurred when the entry wasn't correct (ie please enter the phone number like xxx-xxx-xxxx). There also was a counter for number of times ...

Agree with monty; the part about squeezing the bulb indicates that because you in effect were being the pump- the Sailors 2xx's have a diaphragm pump, and that gets either split, brittle, or pooched out with age, especially if you've used ethanol fuel. Could be yours is split and you could squeeze f...

Tried it out the other weekend, and it worked great. I had marked the ends of the straps for which went where as well as the chains for port and starboard so no adjustments we needed. Planning on using some electrical tape so close the ends of the hooks at the chains, and a zip tie to keep the strap...

Seems like I recall a discussion on the Chrysler powerboat group about the model and serial numbers, and that the serial numbers were somewhat random, and not related to the type boat per se. Like the sail numbers. I've read that they just grabbed a sail from the stack and put it on the boat when re...
