My Humminbird depth sounder is one that is meant for transom mounting. It has a forward and aft direction to it, so I cut my slot in the PVC in the aft part of the fitting. I simply placed the sensor in the fitting and it is held in the proper orientation because the cable comes off the aft part of ...

Carey...It seems to be working properly. It is just aft and slightly port of the thru hull where the keel cable passes thru. It is in a 4 inch PVC fitting that is designed to couple PVC to a standard pipe thread. The threaded end is facing up and the smooth bottom end is caulked to the hull with 100...

Porter, thank you for the compliment on my YouTube channel. Many of your questions may be answered by my playlist videos on the restoration of my boat. It sounds to me like you would have a mighty task on your hands and a cost of at least $ 3000 to get the boat in safe seaworthy condition. I paid $2...

Bobby, you still need to use the bridles. I use ratchet straps with my bridles. they make it very easy to set up and adjust. I also have created my own dedicated mast raising gin pole with boat trailer winch mounted on it rather than using the boom as in the instructions. https://www.facebook.com/ph...

I didn't epoxy mine to the hull at all...just pointed it forward and covered with water so it had no air bubbles between it and the hull. My instruction manual said to use slow cure epoxy so there was time for any air bubbles in the epoxy to escape before it cured. I know that Capt. Scott did not ep...

We have not put up the sails yet...we had to rig and launch 6 miles south of our Marina as there is no boat launch in our town that can accomodate a trailer sailor with the mast up. We motored to our slip at about 5 mph and docked her after a long and tiring day. I still need to rig the boom and mai...

My boat has finnaly been launched.
Here is a 2 minute GoPro video of the maiden voyage of my boat, Wabi Sabi. We have finally launched her after 5 years of work to get her seaworthy, much to my first mate's relief...mine also.

I also installed a 4 inch PVC pipe coupling to the floor of my C22, as Capt. Scott did. I used the type of coupling that would join a standard unthreaded PVC pipe to a threaded style pipe. I used 100% silicone caulsk to glue the coupling to the hull, aft of the thru hull fitting that the keel cable ...

I used a circle cutter tool that I purchased at Harbor Freight to cut the holes for the transom deck plates that I installed. I would think that the oscillating multi tool would work with the correct blade. I used the Aqua Signal deck connector because it looked like it was the best quality of the b...

I removed the top mast truck that houses the halyard pulleys...it was simply attached with stainless steel pan head machine screws. I then used an electricians fish tape to fish a 5 wire plenum rated Belden wire cable into the mast. I installed nylon TyRaps every so many feet on the cable...three at...

The list to starboard is usually due to waterlogged foam flotation on the starboard side of the boat. Some folks cut the settee open and remove the foam...I removed the metal plugs that cover the holes where the foam was injected and used a 1/2 inch EMT thinwall conduit to remove cores of the foam. ...

The rudder post was made hollow so lines could be passed through to raise and lower the rudder. It appears to me from your photo that the rudder post bushing was given a tilt so the bottom bushing lined up without binding. Perhaps a previous owner replaced the bottom through hull rudder bushing and ...

I found my parts on the Harken website in their clearance page...if you find something there it will be very inexpensive compared to regular retail price. I contacted Harken to make sure that a non CB traveler car would work on a CB track. They assured me that it would and so it does. The CB designa...

New traveler installed
Here are a couple of pics of my new traveler...it is a 27mm Harken CB track, mounted on a thick aluminum bar...the traveler car is a non CB type that I purchased in the clearance page of the Harken website. I already had the turning blocks so it was quite a savings compared to buying the whole setup...
