I think you are absolutely right.....I will double check this lock, you may have saved my reversing problems... I will investigate this weekend. I also am looking for hte relaes so that I can "turn" the motor in an emergency if my crappy OEM rudder brakes off.

do you mean a all rope halyard will run right through the mast head w/o stop and a wire to rope ( I will most likely stay with the OEM set-up) won't? I guess any "stop" should just be a disc of some kind right above the shackle,,,

you are right the sheeves at the mast head are purpose made for wire, shallow and narrow.

looks like wire-to-rope halyards for me!

hmmmm... the manual as showm onthe other site states teh following: IN THE RIGGING BOX: 2 halyard assemblies 343/28' 10" not sure what this means but then it also has ... SMALL PARTS BAG #2 2 halyard rope tails / 29' 6" So it is odd since the mast is 29' 6" so the halyard total should...

OK, I have beenusing the new suzuki 4 stroke 9.9...it is damn heavy, very heavy... I will need a new OB bracket thsi fall for sure. thanks... I may have to dust off that really old chrysler 15 OB...my brand new suzuki 4 stroke 9.9 HP is so damn heavy (weighs more than a 40HP 2 stroke!!!) that I now see that the wood onteh OB bracket is actually flexing...not good...I wired teh OB tothe stanchion for safety and hope the whole bus...

Now that I know the boat floats...I am getting the luxury or worrying about actually sailing her and her standing rigging.... I will do a search and go through al lthe chainplate reinforcement threads and figure out the best practice and I think EE is right...there will be a need to tackle this comp...

I also have looked at this and there is no way the OEM sheeves were meant to handle rope....so...I need the specs of the OEM rope/wire halyard so Ihave the right lenght wire/rope combo so as not to have rope foul in the masthead..

OK, got the boat hauled --ON ITS CRADLE! for all the belly aching of the haulers and the yard and marina owners/workers the set-up moved about 80 miles -- rock solid not even a sway. Well when she got to her new home and was in the sling being unloaded, and unloaded her cradle..the cradle was solid....

nice site, when I moved my boat out of the old marina (FINALLY!) they dug out the original OEM supplied chrysler outboard...it is a 15HP but is so small and light and compact I am very skeptical...it was such a art deco design and had a big 15 on it.... got me wondering if I should service it and us...

the boatyard is charging me a $170 mast surcharge ( this is over and above the mast raisng / lowering fee ) since they say themast is 30' or over.... unreal guys , unreal...I so badly need a trailer but I have the fixed keel 26 and those trailers are rare and pricey here

I am curious about the foam and the c-26...please keep us aprised of what and where your would put the foam..I was thinking of this myself and wonder how much we would need to bother keeping her upright...I figure the anchor locker in teh forepeak...put that is pretty small..I would give up all that...

real nice turn of events....glad to hear the c-22 took it well and you had a thrill... the outboard must have given you some real stress, if you were in a powerboat...my guess is they'd be searching for you right now... keep the chrysler sailboat sailing stories going...I can't wait to get mine inth...
