I struggled with my little old Honda all season last year. I've got the carb right in it now though. It was dirty and the mixture screw was too rich.

The first owner of my boat put a big hole in my port side cockpit bulkhead for something (I'll never know what).
The next owner put a varnished piece of plywood over the hole with 5200. :x

I removed it and installed a speaker there. :)

What a relief to find in the end that something you thought was catastrophic was not such a big deal after all.

This is crazy. I was just browsing around for solar vents this morning. No kidding! Not in the budget for me this year. I'm tapped out.

I don't know where the assertion that the bolt holes are not standard originated. I know that I regurgitated what I was told by Ida Sailor and others repeatedly (and their brackets were sold undrilled accordingly). So, now that it seems that they are evenly spaced and radiused around the pin, do you...

Awesome. The Angle grinder with the cutoff wheel was great advice. I use that for all kinds of stuff. The trouble was not knowing if you owned an angle grinder. :)

Your thread about cutting the pin with a reciprocating saw strangely disappeared while I was trying to post in it and the date of the general sailing forum on the index page went to Dec 31, 1969. I was going to post this link. I'm pretty sure this will cut through the stainless pin like butter. http...

Hi, I'm just now getting on here. Leatherneck, looks like you did a pretty good job, but since I just measured as well, I'll post what I have. Taking into account that you were planning to use a laser, I did not conform my tape to the contour of the topsides, but went straight down as a plumbbob wou...

I agree Beady, it looks pretty great. Among my small group of friends at the marina there is an Oday Mariner 19 and a Victoria 18. I would love to see how one of these babies does next to them.

I believe that unfortunate individual experienced a pin breakage. Since reading about his experience, I've wondered if perhaps his boat got dropped on the keel or it had run aground on the rocks. Regardless, great job! I'm looking forward to seeing the drawing.

It appears to have a LOT of freeboard, much like the infamous Bayliner Buccaneer (not to be confused with the venerable Chrysler Buccaneer). The Bayliners, because of that freeboard, are almost impossible to get across the wind. You almost lose steerage with every tack. It would be a hell of a "...

Just yanking your chain about the Poli Glow. It's just that I have the same colored hull and I've seen the very dramatic difference that it makes. Have I told you guys the secret I found out about Poli Glow? As it turns out, it's actually a common household item that you can get for less than $25.00...
