Good luck on the search! You really can not go wrong with a cared for C22! They are built very well!
Feel free to hang and chat if you'd like. Also if you have not noticed, we have the Pirateer manual online in our documents page!

She looks nice! I also had a blue hulled C22! I really liked the color after I buffed her out! Very pretty!

Re: My C22 will soon be on auction . . ..

Sorry to hear about the health issues. Hopefully those can be controlled or repaired. Funny how things are! Last year I gave my 6" reflector Celestron scope to my neighbors with grand kids in hopes of getting them more interested in astronomy. Anytime an interesting event came up, I'd have it o...

Re: Any idea How to track the history of a 1976 c22 in tx

You might consider posting pictures and registration numbers for the boat! Someone may recognize it! In Washington, if you have a bill of sale you can request a title. It can take some time though. I purchased a boat and trailer with no titles. The state told me I could have the boat title but the t...

Sorry to see the boat go but maybe she'll come back with a new owner!
Will you be moving on to other hobbies or is there possibly a new boat in your future?

Re: Where should I mount my new MFD (Chartplotter)?

I mounted a depth finder on a swivel in the companion way on a C22!
I really liked the access as needed! Normally I did not swing it out but when necessary, I could easily!

I like EE's idea!

That was my first thought also.
Fiberglass and youtube!

I've repaired glass damage on a Catamaran I used to have. I believe the repair was stronger than the original glass!

Re: Kind of an Emergency: Winter Water Leaks Filling Bilge and Cabin Sole

If you are looking for pure manual, there are several hand pumps out there. Even simple kayak pumps. As above you can pump into a bucket and toss into the cockpit of the C22. If properly clean the water will drain into the aft center lazerette and out the back of the boat. On the other end of the sp...

I know, we all love sailing and I'd expect family to be top of the list but what else are your hobbies? Yes, I sail, dabble with old Chevy's and ride a Harley with regularity, toss in classical guitar, kites, photography, and a drone and my days are full! LOL! I've asked before and was very surprised...

Almost did it again! LOL!

Sadly I am guilty of hovering over Craigslist and OfferUp for that next boat. I've been minus a fixerupper for a year and a half now. I spied a prime candidate for me to play with. While not a Chrysler it was clearly neglected at best and possibly abandoned! It was for sale on OU so I contacted the ...

Re: sailing on the san juan straits

One more item for you! Go buy a current Waggner Cruising Guide. They are available on Amazon or your local boat shop. I bet there is one in PA. These guys do a great job. 2018 version is available! We buy one every year or two and pass the old version on to local boaters. They give very good descrip...

Re: sailing on the san juan straits

You could experience a ton of different scenarios in the same water. Generally in the summer winds can get very fickle. Last summer we spent 2.5 weeks in the Saun Juans and Gulf islands and only saw rain on the last day coming home! Other times not so nice. Plan carefully around where you want to be...

Re: Anchoring Techniques/Advice?

LOL! No errors and no corrections! Simply my shared personal opinion! Please note, if the weather is calm, anchorage is tight, and many other boats, use 7:1 to SET your anchor. You can then adjust the rode to conditions. You also may want to know I am very conservative when it comes to safety! Scott

Re: Anchoring Techniques/Advice?

Sir, with all due respect, where I sail a scope of 3:1 is barely a lunch hook. You will get as many different opinions as there are members here if everyone responds! LOL! Get a current "Chapmans" book and look it up. There you will get a very good place to start on proper anchoring. I'd a...

WOW! Quite the story! Glad all is well! As far as that rudder, On one of my C22 boats I had to put a small "T" handle on the lines to pull the rudder up and down. I also changed the lines to red and green lines. Green down and red is up. The idea is to always know I am pulling the correct ...

Re: Winter in Slip

If you are floating you boat in sub freezing weather have you considered heating the boat? We are in Puget Sound and it does not get below freezing for any real length of time. Some key thoughts are open all hatches that have through hulls. They need access to the heat. Sometimes a simple lightbulb ...
