Sad news indeed, :( but now should be a good time to look for another sailboat. As the weather gets colder more boats come on the market and the prices drop with the weather... or so it seems. I just missed a venture 17 with trailer as a play around sailboat for $350 the photos did not look bad but ...

Thanks, it sounds like sanding with only hand pressure (no sander) the 60 grit should work ok, I'll keep the 80 grit as a stand by. I have a mask but will need a suit, just what little bit I sanded by hand had dust flying everywhere. No I have not lost my mind thinking I'll just sand the whole botto...

Is 60 grit sandpaper to abrasive?
I was thinking of doing a little hand sanding of the bottom to get a feel of the old paints condition and type. Along with locating the defects (old blisters and the like), being only a preliminary sanding by hand would 60 grit sandpaper be permissible or should I stay with 80 grit or above? Terrenc...

30' Chryslers are nice sailboats, but at the end of the day, the logistics of such a project unless it was right on my door step would be to much of a head ache. In my case... one dream at a time. Not truly looking for a long term liveaboard my C26 will suffice. Not to say that dreaming is out of th...

Alex Welcome to the forum... younger blood is always welcomed. I would not consider myself as one knowing all the ins and outs of a Chrysler, I'll leave that to the wiser members among us. Taking a knowledgeable friend with you is always a good first move; we will all be looking for photos. Terrence...

Bob With out saying there is still a lot of work to be done to the forward berth, (the whole boat for that matter) thinking of some Led lighting just not sure where best to install it. That amount of crabs would cost dearly down in my neck of the woods. Did I spy a new forward hatch on your Chrysler by chance? Rcratbob Not to second guess the condition of your C22, but if hard to pull rudder ropes are all you need to deal with... you've got a keeper. Bruce All of the Chrysler sailboats are good old boats, but if you have the time and money cast your eye upon the C26. There is a lot to be said about standing room and if you shop around the price of one is not much different from a C22. Good luck in the future. Terrence Wilmington N.C. Chrysler 26...

Definitely not being a voice of experience, but it would seem to me with so many factors playing into this matter... the heel angle or sweet spot for one sailboat may very well be quiet different for another. The formula however to find it is most likely the same, but what this formula is I have no ...
