Welcome. I've only been around a couple months but seems like lots of helpful folks on these forums. Several other Texans here too I've noticed, which could be good or bad I guess depending upon your outlook. :D

I just joined recently and I've yet to get my project C22 in the water, but I'm glad there's a source to turn to for the many questions I'm bound to have. I've already come up with a lot of great tips just reading through the forums. Cheers.

Lucky Jack, I fitted a v-hull powerboat trailer w/ parts from Trailer Depot (on line). It works like a champ. Dual axle, hydro brakes, all the goodies. My original c-22 trlr I sold for $800. Good luck, it will work. I tow this one all over with no problems. Thanks Jeffrey. I just ordered some parts...

1k including trailer. Looks like there's also a very nice fixed keel 26 around that area for sale too.

This might be a good spot for me to mention that the Catalina 22 trailer I had didn't work at all well for this particular Chrysler 22. I managed to muscle the boat on with help from a friend with truck, crane, and winch, but it's only touching the trailer on the keel and bow. That is, there's about...

Nobody is going to be able to tell you anything specific from those pics, but if you go to the top right hand corner of the transom there should be a small plate with the HIN on it. It's embossed so you should still be able to read the number even if it's been painted over. Immediately below it the...

My new "free" C-22

Probably spent at least $500 so far just moving her half a mile home so there goes the free part. The Catalina 22 trailer I had really didn't work at all so the boat is currently precariously balanced on it till I figure out what to do next. I have no paperwork yet and the hull ID is too faint to re...

I have a pre-sailing story. Bought a trailer to collect my newly acquired C22 but the trailer already had the hull of a Catalina 22 on it. I parked it out front with a "free boat" sign on it and a group of several gentlemen stopped and said they wanted it. I drove it over to the backyard o...

My Dilemna (or Dilemma)

I could have sworn the correct spelling of that word was with an "n" in it, but Google seems to say otherwise. Anyway, I have inherited a neglected C22 which has been sitting on wooden supports for 8 years or so. This boat does have sails and most other parts except tiller though as far as...

Re: c16

Not to hamper your enthusiasm... and welcome to the forum by the way. Just a thought, it may well serve you best to use the money that would be needed to overhaul your c16 with so many parts missing on say a c22. And there was one in Jersey for $900 if it's still there. No trailer though. http://so...

I'll wear my running shoes just in case I need to get out of the way in a hurry. :) I'm currently trying to beg, borrow, or, as a last resort, buy some boat stands as I think the operation will definitely require at least a couple of them.

Thanks for all the good advice. I'm a bit torn now as to whether to attempt this. Darn these "free" boats. Since the boat is free I'm also hesitant to spend a lot of money on moving her so I'll probably go for the careful but cheap route. Currently the keel is in the up position (may be st...

Anyone own this 22?

I know it's a long shot, but this one sold on sailingtexas a few years ago and I'd love to get some more pics of the cabin to give me something to aim at on my restore job. A very nice example of a good boat well taken care of.

Thanks guys. One of the problems with the boat is the bow eye does seem a little "loose". I just ordered a strap to sling around the keel which I think will work.

Catalina 22 trailer for Chrysler 22?

Hi All, I've recently inherited a neglected Chrysler 22 swing keel (on cinder blocks and wood supports) and also snapped up a Catalina 22 trailer in good condition. Any opinions on how well this trailer will match up with the Chrysler? My idea is to use a floor jack to carefully raise the boat up a ...
