I have so much to be thankful for, and each of you on this forum are included in that.
I may not have gotten everything I want out of life, but I am so glad I never got what I deserved.

So aparently this is not a stock rigging on our C-22's?

Mainly, I need help
The bottom portion of the main luff is different than the simple mains I have used. There is a line attached to an eyelet that doesn't seem long enough to use as a down haul. One of the sail slugs is attached to this line, but the slug above and below it are attached to the luff. I'd appreciate help...

Just read an article in Practical Sailor that asked the same question about shortening a sail. The quesiton boiled down to: 1) How much will you take off the bottom of the sail, and 2) What percentage decrease in sail area does this cause. In the case of the article, removing a foot from the bottom ...

I had a really-way-out-there-wierd thought as I began planning my rewiring. Since I trailer my boat, and may even do some camping in it, I thought about putting a connector point at the top of my trailer winch tube with a matching connector just port of the forward nav light. While trailering a jump...

I like it. Didnt' realize during the discussion that you have a fixed keel. That explains the greater need for an increased tongue length. I had envisioned you keeping the coupling down even with the steel tubing to help lower the stern of the boat upon launch. I look forward to seeing pictures of i...

I like my Yukon! 5.3 V8 and towing package for the tranny on a one ton truck chasis. Bonus - I get 4 extra lug nuts that way! I've towed my 22 behind a '87 Ranger with the 2.9 V6. It was ok on the flat or going down hill, but we have a few steeper roads out here in Colorado and I was afraid the boat...

Stupid question not covered in any book I've read
All right you guys... I see your pictures, main all nicely folded on the boom. I've tried it and the slick-as-snot sail material always dumps off one side or the other leaving me with a wad of sail cascading into the hatch/cockpit. Sailors of other vessels point and laugh at the ineptitude. What's t...

Just a thought, Scott, I had the crank fall out of my jack and bought a new one and put it on. When I took the top off the old crank I found it's just a z bent piece of steel rod that goes through a bevel gear. The gear had a set screw to hold it in place on the rod. Could be that a new crank handle...

Trailer Sailor VS Slip Sitter
I can now call myself a trailer sailor! For you other experienced multiple erectors of the aluminum tube, what hardware mods have you made that deviate from the owner's manual in order to allow a quicker set-up and less time in the parking lot? I've already switched over to using racheting straps in...

Gooseneck question
My boom came without a usable gooseneck. I scrounged and retrofitted one from a Catalina but am not thrilled with the result. Do any of you folks have a part number or link to one you are using or would use for a C-22?
