So I am going to need a 10' door to clear that. With 10' studs and three plates that puts me at 10'-4-1/2" wall height. I'll probably have to go to 11' studs to fit the door tracks under the ceiling.

Thank you for the information!

I've pasted a link to a picture here. It is the factory Chrysler trailer that came with the boat, although I have added another axle.

C22 vertical clearance on a trailer

I have moved and am starting construction on a new garage/workshop. My old shop had 9x7 roll up doors and obviously I could not get my C22 in there on the trailer (or my F350). So this time I figured that I would get a tall enough ceiling height and door opening to get the C22 inside for winter stor...

I've thought about a locking mechanism for the keel. The keel snubber device, which is basically some pipe fittings with a piece of plastic stuck in it, is just there to prevent the keel from sliding back and forth on the pivot pin. It does not have enough friction to lock the keel, nor does the kee...

Swinging the swing keel

Ok Captain Scott, I'll start something! When I was sailing out Beaufort Inlet (NC), my first time sailing the Chrysler 22 in the ocean, I encountered 7-8 foot seas with a fairly close interval. My long shaft Honda 9.9 did not leave the water, although it came close. One of the things I have always r...

All good points. I used to dislike the C22's profile. I thought it was odd, but it was really just different and adds to the headroom over the V berth compared to a similar sized boat. I drove 425 miles to look at my boat. Bought it, and dragged it home. After sailing it for three seasons and taking...

I put my bilge pump with an electronic sensor right under the keel winch. It will take at least three inches of water in the walkway before it comes on, but putting it at the lowest point (keel pin) would be a terrible trip hazard. There is no bilge per se in the C22. The only space there is between...

I took the plastic through hull out of my 1976 C22 and replaced it with an honest-to-goodness bronze through bolted seacock. I epoxied a teak pad to the hull, drilled three holes through the hull and installed countersunk screws bedded in 3M 4200. I know, I know, good practice dictates two clamps on...

Mine won't attach to a sail cover. They tie at three points to the boom, and travel up to a pulley on each spreader, and then down to a cleat on the mast. When you are sailing, you loosen the line at the cleat and pull all the lazy jacks forward looping them around the same cleat. Then tie off. This...

Good Old Boat had a nice article on making your own lazy jacks.

You can find it here: http://www.goodoldboat.com/reader_servi ... tamers.php

I did the calculations for the C22 and purchased the line, and then, like Capt. Scott, I got lazy.

I do hope to install them this spring.

I moved my battery from the previous owner's location behind the winch, under the cockpit, to the dinette seat storage area. I did this to get the weight more centered and lower on the boat. I installed a plywood shelf right next to the keel pivot to level up the battery. It sits in a battery box st...

Lugers were kit boats assembled by the purchaser. Supposedly heavily built and good quality although not the prettiest. It all comes down to the a abilities and attitude of the builder as far as the finished product.
