Sommers, Ours looks nothing like yours. Its just a peice of metal with a shakle to which we attach the main sheet. No cleats or blocks. I assume those blocks have a line through them which allows you to fix the travler in place. Ours just moves across when we tack and is stopped by the pin. Matt, I'...

Another Traveler Question
I beleive we have the original set up. The track has holes set at 2-3 inch intervals. Bolts with wing nuts, now frozen tight ,were placed allowing the traveller about a three foot range of movement. I assume that the bolts are meant to be moved along the track for different conditons. Any suggestion...

Hinged Mast Step
We successfully installed the hinged mast step today. We discovered that the rivies on the base of the mast were all but gone and the base slipped right out, so we did through bolt the plate after all.
No pics, sorry, it started to rain just as we were finishing up.

Painting
The hull of our C-22 is badly oxidized. The past two seasons we've used restoral and buffing to freshen it up, but after just a few weeks on the morring the oxizdation comes back. So hubby is considering painting. We have limited time . The weather here has not been cooperating and we have not start...

The pins have rings on the ends so Im not too concerned about them poping out. The old mast step finger was not strctural in any way, once the mast was up the weight of it and the shrouds kept it in place. It the past we had issues with the mast swinging on the way up, But we've solved them I think using a slight modification I learned from Capt. Scott. It is all about keeping the jib sheets tight. The other issue is we have no stern rail ??? so someone or something has to keep the mast up high enough...

Thanks Fran! You really should come sailing one day here in the Puget Sound area! It is beautiful when it isn't raining! Scott I just might do that. I have a dear friend in Olympia who holds a Master's Near Coastal 100 Ton license and she actually taught me much of what I know. She usually c...
