I beleive we have the original set up. The track has holes set at 2-3 inch intervals. Bolts with wing nuts, now frozen tight ,were placed allowing the traveller about a three foot range of movement. I assume that the bolts are meant to be moved along the track for different conditons. Any suggestion...

We successfully installed the hinged mast step today. We discovered that the rivies on the base of the mast were all but gone and the base slipped right out, so we did through bolt the plate after all.

No pics, sorry, it started to rain just as we were finishing up.

I found a site for Jamestown Distributors which gives info on how much it would take. We are doing the 22 and I'll let you know. Hubby thinks 2-3 quarts

On Thursday afternoon I ordered a hinged mast step from Rig Rite by phone. It arrived in Fridays Mail! That's what I call service.

Them Chrysler guys thought of everything

The double purchase is a great idea. Using just the main sheet attached to the forestay bracket on the bow puts your back to the mast as it's coming up. I always clunk my head as the boom comes down.

It the past we had issues with the mast swinging on the way up, But we've solved them I think using a slight modification I learned from Capt. Scott. It is all about keeping the jib sheets tight. The other issue is we have no stern rail ??? so someone or something has to keep the mast up high enough...

Was it a one person job?

Do you run lines through each of the loops to the block attached to the forestay clip? I'd love to see a pic.

What did you wind up using as gin a pole instead of the boom?

Try taking some pics and posting them here, maybe some C26 owners could comment on them for you.

We drilled a hole through the pin and stuck a large cotter pin through it. No more pins in the boom!

Can I ask what signs you saw thatmade you take a look in the first place?

I got suspicious only because our 22 did fill with water to the table top level and into the cockpit and she stayed afloat to be towed 1/4 mile from the mooring to the beach. That was 2 weeks after we put her in the water for the first time. Made us very popular around our marina

The hatch looks like its been made larger, maybe the bracing was added to compensate? Just a thought

Our C-22 1977 does not have a thru hull for a sink. Our "kitchen" had was not with the boat when we purchased it and there are no openings in the sette on which it would have sat to indicate a sink drain. Is this something in different models or years?.
