Hey Chrysler Sailers,

This is what i'm trying to sail now instead of the Manowar. It's just like the summertime only instead of waiting for wind I'm waiting for Ice. Anybody have any iceboating experience on the forum?

My Manowar came as just a hull only. So had to fabricate the mast, rudder etc. I found good info on woodenboat forum and duckworks magazine online. Some wood boat guys are kind of stuffy ( wont reply re a glass boat) todd bradshaw on the woodenboat and jim michalak on duckworks ...

Welcome to the forum Ricko. My boat had a hole in the hull where the self bailer was located so i just glassed it up. i think you have to be moving pretty well to have it work, Does she fill with water if the bailer is closed?

Hey Guys,
That manowar that Lee mentioned on ebay back in june was relisted and went for 760.00 a couple of days ago, great looking boat. Last time I tried to sail had no wind so i went fishing instead but i hope to go tomorrow. Weatherman is calling for 10 knot winds.

When I got mine the daggerboard trunk supports were broken also, that seems to be a weak spot. When I started to repair the trunk i discovered all the wood encased in the fiberglass was water soaked and rotted. Something to watch for.

It looks like he just flattened the mast sleeve and put grommets in it. Then he made some rope grommets(loops) like I did on my sail to hold it on the mast. Some look like larger plastic mast hoops.
