Try a wheelbarrow handle. My C-22 had been broken into and the tiller broke before I bought it and as a quick replacement I put in a 2 1/4" X 1 3/4" wheelbarrow handle cut to length. The end has about 8" of round handle made to fit a hand and the 1 3/4" width just fits the bracket. (I may have ...

My C-22 has spreaders that are 28 inches each and are 12' 7 1/2 " up from the base. The Chrysler Sailing Association website says they should tilt upward. I suppose so the cable runs parallel to the end of the spreader.
