Re: Chrysler 26 Draft

congrats on your boat. weight could be a factor, however pictures are not accurate (there could be people inside not visible, etc) the risk is that having such a small margin for error --5"--, will expose your boat to unforeseen changes in the water/lake/river bottom (e.g. rocks, sand banks, de...

Re: Repair help - 22'

had a similar behaviour on my 22 there is foam inside some of the interior bulkheads if you have a water leak (typically through windows seams), water can get into the foam and get lodged there hard to remove/dry unless you do extensive work or figure out a way to let it evaporate/dry there is a pos...

Re:

The hinged mast step is the way to go...I changed mine to hinged and it is much better. Once you pin the mast to the base you don't have to worry about it falling overboard. I bought the one from Dwyer Aluminum Mast Company...Model DH 2150. Hi - I'm planning to install the mast hinge on a c-22 in t...

Re: Installing a mast hinge?

Hi - I'm planning to install the mast hinge on a c-22 in the spring (boat is stored for winter now) so doing early research - do you happen to have pictures of yours? e.g. how it attached to the mast? (was the foot removed/replaced?)

Re: Winter Storage - Pictures

I ended up with a 12ft x 25ft tarp, marked as heavy duty, 10mil material. I paid the equivalent of $35 USD. there where larger/thicker options though. I had used a similar one -smaller size- to cover my summer patio furniture so had a reference point already. At the middle the tarp covers around 1.5...

Winter Storage - Pictures

Hi - How / where do you store/keep your boat for winter? I ended up just putting a PVC frame (using 3/4 Gray PVC) and a industrial tarp on top.......hope it works; The mast had to be stored on a separate rack (can't be used as part of the frame --per the marina regulations--) I removed the stanchion...

Re: How do you remove the table top?

Had to remove all screws from the base; looking it now, it is hold by pressure only - but it was completely stuck after stepping / seating on top ! so will clean and put some type of stop to avoid the same issue

That will give you access to the Port side of the Keel Pin Assembly - you can see the Starboard side os the assembly through the cavity underneath the seat -

Re: First Post.. Should I buy?

Suggest to search recent sales of Chrysler 22's so you can get an idea of the cost of a "ready-to-sail" boat (which includes sails, outboard motor and trailer) so you have reference point. Around here (Ontario), I have seen C22's "ready-to-sail" offered for the equivalent of $2,0...

Re: Mast Step Trouble

Doubt the part itself will be available; You may need to consider a Mast Hinge; I'm also looking at that for next season; if you zoom-in the picture of my mast, you can see there is a crack starting to form in almost the same shape of yours so I won't be surprised if my mast is close to have the sam...
