Re: Ok so a c22 isn't the same as a sailfish! Help!!!

That's what is weird. When the boom is below the mast gate I have a slack section between the reef point and the boom. I tried using the boom bang that came with the boat but it does not reach the ring at the lower portion of the mast when fully extended.

Ok so a c22 isn't the same as a sailfish! Help!!!

Ok so after kinda sailing her this weekend I have a few questions. Is the boom supposed to be above or below the mast gate? I can't seem to quite get a good sail shape bit it could be the sails are really old. Like 76 originals. I also have a question about how the traveler hooks to the main sheet b...

The mast light connector. And the mount for the galley table? I have an 80 we may be able to swap parts.

Re: 1976 c22 capacity decal

11.5? Really......umm I was thinking max of like 7 and even that might be pushing it. What is the max number safely on board? I'm sure someone has to have put more than 2!

Help does anyone have a picture of their uscg capacity decal? Were these boats even required to have one? Not sure on the uscg requirements in 76. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Re: C22 haylard spec question

No polyester sorry forgot polypropelyne is also used for rope. The issue I'm running into is the safe operating weight. I don't see how a haylard would need more than 350lbs of work limit but...newengland is supposedly 1300lbs. That's the issue I run into. Am I still safe operating on 350 vs sta set

Re: C22 haylard spec question

Hummm.....new England ropes sta-set x is all poly. Every haylard line I look at is poly double braid. Am I missing something? Not being sarcastic at all.

C22 haylard spec question

So for the wire to rope haylard main and jib chrysler used 3/8. In an effort to sail this year the 3/8lines need replaced. Does anyone know the working load on those ropes? As a temp I was looking at home depot and they have poly 3/8 marine line not dock line and the working load limit is 350lbs wil...

Re: Any idea How to track the history of a 1976 c22 in tx

Trying to upload pictures now. Just need to resize. Thanks, the previous owner route is done. I can't find a track at all. Tried through the tax office. Post office and parks and wildlife. Either unfortunatly has passed or never wanted to be found with this boat.

Re: considering buying this C22

I Would jump. Make sure to check the sails. Moving the spreaders an inch shouldn't make too much of a change. For that price though I would go through everything with a fine tooth comb. Make sure running rigging and sails are actually good still.

Re: Any idea How to track the history of a 1976 c22 in tx

Thanks for the offer skipperdan. There is a process in place here for boats without titles. I've used it before with my 80. The boat has been really well taken care of and some of the mods listed on this site (while normal for sailing reasons) seems to have been done as pictured on this site. I gues...

Re: Any idea How to track the history of a 1976 c22 in tx

That is the issue here. The boat shows last registered here so they hold you too it unless you register in another state first. It's great on one side since there is a tracking when done properly. But when under table deals are done it makes it hard to save a boat that was sitting in a field rather ...

Any idea How to track the history of a 1976 c22 in tx

I have the list from tpwd but that person no longer can be tracked. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. 1980 c22 loose change 19...
